Born in Brisbane, Yvette has danced in many different cities during her time as a dancer. After training at Queensland Dance School of Excellence and The New Zealand School of Dance, Yvette went on to dance for The West Australian Ballet, Neo Vida, and The Australian Ballet. Some of her favourite repertoire that she’s performed in include George Balanchine’s ‘Emeralds’, and ‘Serenade’, Bournonville’s ‘La Sylphide’, and ‘Napoli’, as well as David McCallister’s Storytime Ballet’s, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘The Nutcracker’, and ‘Coppelia’. During the last 5 years with The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach team, Yvette’s passion for teaching has grown as she travelled across the country delivering to rural and remote schools. Now in her final year of Masters of Teaching Primary Secondary, Yvette looks forward to sharing her knowledge and encouraging the next generation of dancers to find their own unique style and love of dance.
