Ballet – R.A.D
The Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) syllabus Ballet classes are offered for children in Prep and above. The R.A.D. syllabus develops technique, strength, confidence and artistry to the highest level.
R.A.D. Ballet classes are offered in the following streams –
- The Grades Syllabus (Pre-primary to Grade 8 Ballet)
The Grades syllabus provides a broad practical dance education focusing on ballet and develops technical, musical and performance skills (age 5+). Students in Grade 1 Ballet and above must attend 2 syllabus classes per week.
- The Vocational Syllabus (Intermediate Foundation to Advanced)
The Vocational syllabus provides an in-depth study of Ballet and prepares students for a career in dance (age 12+).
- The Repertoire Syllabus (Level 2, 3, 4)
The Repertoire syllabus is a classical ballet performance programme which provides a flexible structure for the development of technical, musical and performance skills in ballet based on adapted choreography from well known classical repertoire (age 11+). Repertoire students can just attend the one Repertoire class per week.
- Silver Swans (for over 55s)
Silver Swans is specially designed for adult older learners; these classes will help improve your mobility, posture, co-ordination and energy levels.
Ballet Extension PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique)
This class is designed for Ballet students age 10+ who would like to further challenge and strengthen their classical ballet technique.
RECREATIONAL BALLET
These classes are conducted for dancers age 8 and up who would like to just enjoy their ballet once a week, with no exams, no concerts, just fun!
