The TDLD Pre-Professional program is for disciplined, elite Classical Ballet students and is by audition only.  It is not exclusive to TDLD students, all are welcome to apply to audition.  The Program is designed to broaden and enhance current Classical Ballet technique in order to transition into full-time dance studies. The program will be based on the Russian Vaganova technique, and will incorporate pointework, artistry, conditioning and stretching.   Students will be assessed twice a year in class, and have a performance assessment.

The Program will be conducted by Rebekah Conry.
Rebekah Conry has danced for ten years professionally; she has danced with the West Australian Ballet, Ballet West (USA), Melbourne Ballet Company and recently retired as the Principal of the Victorian State Ballet. Rebekah’s teaching passion lies in classical technique and repertoire, conditioning and pointe work and has been teaching all ages in Melbourne and formerly Perth for the last 8 years. She is qualified with an Advanced Diploma and Bachelors degree in Performing Arts and teaching attained from Edith Cowan University, WA, is Barre Body certified and loves all things health and fitness. Rebekah is excited to share her passion and knowledge with the students at Theatre de la DanSe this year.

The classes will run on Saturdays from 4.30 – 6.00pm during school terms.

Classes will be held at our professionally fitted studios at 15 Male Street Brighton.   Students will have access to a common room, kitchen, waiting area and change rooms.   Our studios are very easily accessible by public transport.   Middle Brighton train Station (20 minutes by train from Flinders Street) is on our doorstep.  There is also a bus stop directly out the front of the studios.

Students who successfully audition will be offered a place in the program.  Students must be in Year 7 or above at Secondary School and maintain at least 2 hours of ballet syllabus classes in addition to the program; these classes do not have to be at TDLD.
