Theatre De La Danse

Policies

Uniform Policy

Uniform as published is not compulsory; however we do recommended that students wear the correct uniform and footwear as students are more able to perform movements correctly and the teachers are more able to correct posture and alignment. Wearing of the uniform also promotes a feeling of belonging and school spirit. Please note – Ballet students must have the correct uniform if they wish to sit for an R.A.D. Examination or Presentation Class. All students are required to have the correct footwear if they wish to participate in the Concert. All uniform supplies, except shoes, can be purchased from the school office at Brighton Rec.

Heat Policy

Brighton Campus: In the event of extreme heat, a staff member from TDLD will contact you to advise of class cancellation. This new policy for the Brighton campus is due to the installation of air conditioning at the studios.
East Bentleigh Campus: Classes will be cancelled if the temperature reaches 35 degrees. Phone 9592 0890 after 2pm on the day of classes, and a message will inform you of any cancellations. This will not usually affect morning classes as temperatures do not ordinarily reach their peak until the afternoon. Classes cancelled due to heat will be credited to the next term. This policy is for the safety of students.

Parent Watching Policy

Parents are asked not to watch classes other than during Parent Watching Week, in the last week of each term. Students are easily distracted, and therefore this request is for their benefit. However, new Tinytots and Bopping Tots parents may watch classes for the first two weeks of term, until their child has settled in.

Enrolment Policy

Enrolments can be made in person at the Brighton Recreational Centre studio office, or via mail. Re-enrolment week will be held in the last week of Terms 1, 2 & 3. This gives current students the option to re-enrol for the next term before places are opened to new students. You will be sent an invoice prior to re-enrolment week. You must pay the invoice by the due date to guarantee your place for the following term. Please note that class places are not guaranteed from year to year as the timetable, class levels, and class eligibility changes for the majority of the school from year to year.
Age/school grades are listed on the timetable as a guideline for some classes; TDLD reserves the right to vary this
according to student ability when necessary. Tinytots fairy Magic students stay in the one level for the duration of the year unless advised by the office and teacher to progress to
the next level.
